As a paramedic exposed to pain and suffering daily, I have learned to compartmentalize my emotions and am rarely moved by human situations. Not this time...I am busy wiping tears from my cheeks.

I bet there is more to this story than we are privy to. This boy could be a runaway who just got tired of life on the move and figured this would be a good way to make his entrance back into society. It will be interesting to follow this and see how it plays out.

America...Land of the Free and Home of the Brave. It was nice to see something newsworthy that did not involve the state of the economy (not that it is not important, but the day in/day out bad news is depressing), a senseless homicide, a financial fraud scandal, etc.

Incredibly moving human interest story. I often find myself shutting down my computer, feeling depressed, after reading the news. I will have a warm feeling and a sence of renewed hope this time. Our society needs more people like this fine young man.

I'd like to find out exactly where the "just got him there in time" hospital comments came from. They certainly did not come from the hospital from a person appointed as a spokesperson. You see, patient information is protected under the HIPPA act.

I used to live near the Wendy's where the finger-in-the-chili accident happened. All because of the lie she told, the restaurant almost had to close. Almost all of the staff lost their jobs because revenue at that restaurant ground to a complete stand still.
